Pictures of seed plants from crosses between
R. tomentosum and different lepidotes
34 weeks after sowing, one year after pollination

Kristian Theqvist, 08-Aug-2004, rev. 000

I took the pictures of the seed plants on the 24-Jun-2004, approx. 34 week after sowing, one year after pollination.
The pictures are in same scale so that it is more easy to compare the size of the leaves of different crossings to tomentosum CW.

34 weeks old tomentosum CW seed plants
The tomentosum CW seed plants do not show much variation. The leaves are still juvenile and do not have much curvature.

34 weeks old tomentosum x groenlandicum seed plants
The tomentosum x groenlandicum seed plants have more vigorous growth and have hairy, curved light green colored leaves. The variation of plants is pretty small.

34 weeks old tomentosum x ledebourii seed plants
The tomentosum x ledebourii seed plants show considerable variation and some plants have shiny leaves without hairs.

34 weeks old tomentosum x hippophaeoides seed plants

The tomentosum x hippophaeoides seed plants show large variation on the shape, size, color and hairiness of the leaves.

34 weeks old tomentosum x cinnabarinum seed plants

The tomentosum x cinnabarinum seed plants show even larger variation on the shape, size and color of the leaves. Some plants are very hairy and some have small, almost malformed leaves.
